Kirk Grizzle, Fine Arts Chair, Director of Choral and Theatre Arts

Kirk Grizzle, Fine Arts Chair, Director of Choral and Theatre Arts

Kirk Grizzle is a native of Georgia. Most recently, he was at South Forsyth High School from 2004 - 2018.  He has taught musical theatre, chorus, guitar, technical theatre and dramatic arts.  He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Georgia College and State University and Master of Arts Degree from Piedmont College. 

As a choral director, his choirs consistently receive Superior ratings at GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluations.  His choirs have also performed three times at the GMEA In-Service Conference.  Under Mr. Grizzle's direction, choirs have won the Heritage Music Festivals in New York and Orlando as well as Music in the Parks and Souther Star Music Festivals in Atlanta.  Mr. Grizzle has coached many GHSA Literary state champion quartets, trios and soloists. 

As a theatre director, his shows have placed well in regional one-act play contests.  Over the years he has directed shows including Godspell, Little Shop of Horrors, Grease, Oliver, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Into the Woods, Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes, The Music Man, Sweeney Todd, Shrek the Musical, Les Miserables, Ghost the Musical, Leap of Faith, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Fame, Children of Eden and most recently, Bonnie and Clyde. 

Mr. Grizzle has many Shuler award nominations and has won Shuler Awards for Lighting (2016), Musical Direction (2018) and Direction 2018).
