Testing

Below you will find helpful information on the various tests in which DHS students may participate in. Also, please see the separate testing pages on the menu to the left for more information. Thanks.

PSAT Test

The PSAT test is administered in October. All 10th grade students are automatically registered for the PSAT and take the test on campus free of charge. The test is completely online and students are required to bring their charged Chromebook for testing day. Any 9th or 11th grader who would like to take the PSAT may register for the test and take it on the same day in October. PSAT test coordinator is Dr. Bentley Sparks. Click for more PSAT information.

AP Testing

AP Testing occurs in May. It is for 2 weeks and all tests are administered at Denmark. All tests have an online component and 12 tests are hybrid with online and paper/pencil portions. Students are required to bring their fully charged Chromebook for testing. Any student who is taking an AP course and has registered for the AP exam will need to report for testing. AP Coordinator is Ms. Teri Schneider.

EOC Testing

EOC Testing occurs in May. End of Course (EOC) tests are standardized tests from the state Department of Education. Students who are taking Algebra: Concepts & Connections, Literature & Composition II, Biology and US History will take EOCs. EOC tests will count as 10% towards students' final grades. EOC test coordinator is Mr. Patrick Coffield.

ACT/SAT Weekend Tests

ACT & SAT tests are offered on the weekends by sign up only. There are several Forsyth schools that host these tests. At this time, Denmark is not a testing location for the ACT or SAT weekend test. Visit the College Board website to sign up for the SAT or ACT Website to register for the ACT.

Testing Accommodations

The process to request accommodations for the SAT, PSAT, AP exams and/or ACT starts with the parent. Additionally, please be aware that the application for accommodations for the SAT, PSAT and AP exams is totally separate/different from the application for accommodations for the ACT.

To request accommodations for the SAT, PSAT and/or AP exams:

  • Complete and sign the College Board Consent form to start the process to request accommodations for the test of your choice (SAT, PSAT and/or AP exams).
  • Please return the consent form (email is preferred) to your student's 504 coordinator or the Special Education Department (students with IEPs).
  • The extended time application is submitted electronically by Denmark.
  • You can either register your student for the SAT before or after they have been approved for accommodations.

To request accommodations for the ACT:

  • Complete and sign the ACT “Consent to Release Information to ACT” to start the process to request accommodations for the test.
  • Go to www.actstudent.org and register for an ACT test.
  • During the online registration process, the student will be asked if they need accommodations. The student will say “yes” and then choose either “extended time national” (which is extended time all in one day) or “special testing” (which is extended time over multiple days).
  • After the registration has been completed, the student will receive an email from ACT that they will need to forward to their 504 coordinator or IEP Case Manager so that the school can request accommodations for the student.
  • The request for accommodations is submitted electronically by Denmark.

All approvals and denials for accommodations are determined by College Board (for the SAT, PSAT and AP exams) or the ACT program; not DHS.

Please contact Mr. Patrick Coffield if you have any questions.
