The ceremony will be held indoors at Gas South Arena, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, Georgia 30097. Students will use a different GPS address, as they will enter from a different entrance than spectators. The venue has “open seating,” meaning first-come, first-served. Each graduating senior will receive 13 tickets, which were dispersed at graduation practice in May 2026. Guests ages 2+ will need a ticket to enter the arena. Students are expected to arrive to the venue with all graduation regalia no later than 12:00 noon. Once you’ve entered the arena, report directly to your assigned seat on the arena floor. Teachers will be there to assist you.

Sunday, 5/17 is DHS Commencement Ceremony at 2:00 p.m. At Gas South Arena. Graduates arrive at 12 noon; doors open for guests at 1:00 p.m.

Senior Dues & Graduation Announcements

SENIOR DUES & CAP/GOWN
As of December 1, 2025, Senior Dues are $185. The SENIOR DUES portal opened for payment around August 13, 2025. Visit the 3rd Ascent website to pay. Senior dues cover the graduation ceremony, your cap/gown (with commemorative 2026 tassel & stole), diploma with cover, two commencement programs, mandatory graduation practice materials, and a host of other items. These items are all covered with the set dues amount and cannot be sold a la carte. If you require financial assistance, please contact your counselor. When ordering on the 3rd Ascent website, you’ll be asked to input your FCS 6-digit Student ID (lunch number), your full legal name (no nicknames, please), a phonetic pronunciation of your name, your height/weight (for gown), a t-shirt size, and payment. You may also order additional items (e.g., commemorative diploma plaque or tassel, etc.), but these are NOT included in the Senior Dues package. Items will be distributed to seniors in April.

Senior Honors Night & PTSO's Baccalaureate Service

Honors Night: The Senior Honors Night is coordinated by Mr. Ryan Brooks (f41172@forsyth.k12.ga.us). It is by invitation only and is scheduled for April 28, 2026.

Baccalaureate Service: Denmark High School's PTSO invites all seniors to a Baccalaureate Service is planned for May 12, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cumming, 1597 Sawnee Dr, Cumming, GA 30040. All families and faiths are welcome to participate. Seniors will wear caps and gowns during the service. Refreshments will be served.

Graduation Awards/Honors Medallions & Pins

Cord/Medal Awards and Recognitions
Students that participate in any of the following will have the opportunity to wear an honors cord during the graduation ceremony. Listed are the only approved components to wear with graduation regalia. Contact your counselor with questions.

Nationally Recognized Honor Societies w/GPA Requirements (contact honor society directly)
The National Honorary Beta Club
GHP Alumni cord (must attend program to be eligible)
AP Capstone Diploma medal
CTAE Pathway Completion cord (blue/green entwined)
Medallions and pins for Pathway Scholar (career, world language, advanced academic, fine arts)

Valedictorian or Salutatorian medal

Senior students are eligible to earn a medallion to wear with graduation regalia in the following areas: advanced academic, fine arts, foreign language, and/or career tech. To earn a medallion, student must be a member of an honor society and have completed at least 3 courses within their area of completion, as well as additional requirements. Students must complete the required documentation/form to receive a medallion for the graduation ceremony. Contact your counselor or view the counseling website if you have questions. If a student qualifies for a medallion in multiple areas, they will receive a “pin” for each additional pathway. Students will only receive 1 medallion. If you don’t complete the form, the school will not order your components.

If you plan to apply for a Pathway Medallion in spring, please note that the COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT IS REQUIRED this year. You can use project/volunteer hours that have been completed for other service areas. You will be required to document the work and hours completed and have the service hours signed off by the supervising adult (coordinator).

Please note the minimum hours required per pathway medallion:
Advanced Academic: 10 hours
World Language: 10 hours
Fine Arts: 20 hours
Career Tech: 40 hours

Senior Final Exams & AP Exams

Senior Final Exams are planned for the week of May 4. Seniors need to inquire with their individual teachers if they have a conflict between a scheduled AP Exam and a senior exam.

Quick Facts

Commencement Ceremony Informtion
Graduation practice is mandatory. Students received their envelope of necessary items such as honor/high honor tassel for cap, honor cords/medallions, 2 ceremony programs, one (1) student parking pass for Deck #3 at Gas South, and 13 graduation tickets. We do not sell extra tickets. Contact Mrs. Rager with specific questions about tickets.

Under the cap and gown, your clothes should be business professional (dark/neutral shoes, pants, skirt; no bold patterns; comfortable shoes).
You may not decorate your cap.
Graduates will be given 13 ceremony tickets at the mandatory graduation practice in May. At this practice, graduates will receive ceremony tickets, student parking pass, commencement program, earned regalia, and other items needed for the ceremony.
Cap & gown will be delivered in early April.

Attire for Graduation

The graduation ceremony is a celebratory but serious occasion. Graduates should aim for polished look, elevated above ordinary streetwear, such as professional or at least business casual pieces (avoiding items like jeans, shorts, and sneakers). Graduates should arrive to the ceremony wearing outfits that align with Forsyth County School’s “Dress for Success” guidelines. Additional information was communicated with students in August 2026. Students should wear dark/neutral dress pants (no bold pattern) with dark/neutral shoes (coordinating socks, if wearing). If wearing a shirt with a collar, wear white and a dark tie. If wearing a dress or skirt, make sure hem is above the gown’s hem or, if longer, is a dark/neutral color (no bold pattern). Wear dark/neutral shoes that will be comfortable for prolonged standing, fast walking, climbing stairs, and walking across pavement. No flip flops/shower shoes/slides allowed. See Mrs. Rager if you have questions.

Graduates may NOT have any digital/electronic items with them on the arena floor except car keys (no cell phones, smart watches, Meta glasses, etc.). Graduates may NOT decorate their graduation caps. Students may NOT wear graduation cords or academic regalia that has not been approved and sponsored by Forsyth County Schools and Denmark High School.

Venue Parking for Guests

Gas South District Arena charges a fee for guest parking. Click here to pre-purchase parking passes (cost is $15). Students will receive a free parking pass for themselves (graduates park in Lot #3). All guests will be required to pay for parking and will park in a different location at the arena than where the seniors will park. NOTE: The time on the $15 parking pass will show a time of 7:30 p.m., even though DHS’s ceremony is at 2:00 p.m. Gas South Arena has assured DHS that the time on the parking pass is merely a placeholder, as there are three (3) graduations that day. The parking pass will be good for a one-time use on May 17, 2026. Please park in Lots A or Deck 2. Graduates will park in Deck 3 and enter the Arena from Floor 3 of Deck 3. Guests will enter the arena from the front entrance.

Venue FAQ & Information: Gas South Arena

Guests should arrive early to allow time to park and go through security. Have the parking pass ready to scan. If you prepay for parking, print your parking pass or have it ready on your mobile phone to present to the parking attendant. The venue will use the Three-Quarter House set up, and graduates will be seated on the floor in rows in front of the stage.

Only clear bags are allowed in the arena. Diaper bags and medical supplies can be contained in non-clear bags but will be subject to inspection in a separate security line with heightened safety standards.

Seating is first-come, first-served. The arena event staff handle all seating and will not allow you to save seats. If you want to sit together, arrive together.

Accessible Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests with a valid disability license plate or hangtag combined with a parking pass will be directed to park in an accessible parking space, or the nearest parking space should an accessible space not be available. The individual to whom the disability license plate or hangtag was issued must be present.

ADA seating is available in the arena. Event staff attendants will be available to help you as needed and will allow one guest to accompany the person in need.

Following the ceremony, graduates will meet families at THE YARD. Gas South will have directional signage for graduates to meet families by the first letter of their last name in this area. Since graduates are not allowed to have their phones during the ceremony, make plans now to meet your graduate at THE YARD (alphabetical by last name) or somewhere off arena grounds. In the event of rain, graduates will be directed to their cars in Deck 3 (and will be able to call you from their car). Make plans for an off-location meeting place before the ceremony in the event of rain. There are two more ceremonies after Denmark’s on May 18, and the arena staff need time to set up for the next ceremony.

Make plans to attend SENIOR NIGHT with the counselors, scheduled for August 20, 2025, at 5:30 PM.

In addition, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your assigned school counselor if you have additional questions/concerns about postsecondary planning. Seniors should visit Denmark High School’s counseling page for specific information. As a general rule, students applying to college need to logon to their GAFutures account and update their information, especially information about HOPE (and Zell Miller scholarships). Also, fall is a good time to learn about FAFSA if planning to use student financial aid. See your counselor about college visitation days.
