Sophomore year is a pivotal moment in your educational journey. Students must have earned 5 or more credits to enter 10th grade and keep graduating on track.

During 10th grade, students should:

• Maintain strong study habits and keep grades high to support graduation and HOPE/Zell Miller scholarship eligibility.

• Explore future careers that align with your interests and potential college majors.

• Meet with your school counselor and family to plan course selections, explore options like AP, honors, or dual enrollment, and confirm you're meeting graduation requirements.

• Monitor your HOPE GPA through GAfutures and continue building a college list using the GAfutures or Big Futures College Search tool.

• Take the PSAT to prepare for future standardized testing and keep your college planning on track.

• Participate in college interest events like PROBE fairs.

• Update your portfolio with extracurriculars, achievements, and community involvement.

• Make the most of your summers with opportunities to volunteer, work, or expand your world view through travel.
