Lindsay Carlson is a Professional School Counselor at Denmark High School. She has called Forsyth County home for over 20 years and is a proud alumna of South Forsyth High School. Lindsay earned both her B.S. in Psychology and M.Ed. in Counselor Education from Georgia Southern University.

With a background in leadership development, holistic wellness, yoga and mindfulness, Lindsay brings a grounded, whole-person approach to education and mental health. As a counselor in Forsyth County, she has led numerous SEL initiatives including school-wide curriculum design, canine-assisted therapy, “Movement & Mindfulness” and spearheads the Sources of Strength Program.

Outside of school, Lindsay is married to Russell and is a mom to a spirited two-year-old son. Whether she’s guiding students or raising her toddler, she brings humor, heart, and a deep belief in the power of showing up authentically.

Corinna Spurlock grew up in Suwanee, Georgia and received her B.S. in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia and her Masters in School Counseling from Mercer University. This will be her 12th year as a school counselor. She helped to open Denmark High School with a counseling team of 4 in 2018. She is committed to developing programs that support the total wellness of students.

Prior to her time at DHS, she worked as a Professional School Counselor and Head Swim & Dive Coach at South Forsyth High School for four years. She resides in Sugar Hill, GA with her husband, Matthew Spurlock, and three children, Maura, Rayna and Mia. In her spare time, she loves to exercise, cook, play board games, and vacation at the beach.

Ryan grew up in Columbia, SC and graduated from The Citadel with a bachelor’s in Social Studies Education. After graduating, he joined the US Coast Guard and completed 5 years of active duty service before going back to school to earn his Ed.S in Counselor Education from the University of South Carolina. Ryan has been a high school counselor since 2014 and has served students in SC, CO, and now GA!

He is passionate about connecting students with their college and career passions, as well as navigating the different career pathways for those students who aren’t sure what to do after high school. In his spare time, Ryan loves spending time with his wife, 3 kids (ages 5 & under), playing basketball, reading, and watching Gamecock Football and Duke Basketball!

Christen grew up in Ocilla, GA and received her B.S. In Psychology from the University of Georgia in 2019. After graduating, she worked in the film industry as a Production Manager before returning to school. She received my M.Ed. in School Counseling from Valdosta State University in 2025. This will be her second year as a school counselor. She is committed to helping students succeed academically while promoting social and emotional wellness for all.

She lives in Gwinnett County with her husband, Brett, and two fur babies, Zoey and Meatball. Some of her favorite hobbies include cooking and reading. She also enjoy going to the lake, kayaking, traveling, and watching sports! Their favorite teams include the Georgia Bulldogs, Detroit Lions, and the Oklahoma City Thunder!

Caroline Shariett received her B.S. in Psychology from Birmingham Southern College and her Masters in School Counseling from Auburn University. She has 17 years of experience as a School Counselor. She has a passion for school counseling and helping students find balance and wellness. She enjoys supporting students as they work towards their goals for the future.

In her time away from the school she enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children, reading, and vacationing at the beach!

Samantha Lyons grew up in Westchester, New York but has called Georgia her home since 2016. She earned her B.S in Psychology from High Point University and her M.Ed in School Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With over a decade of experience in education at all levels, Samantha is committed to helping students pave their own unique path for success.

She resides in Forsyth County with her husband, two daughters, and fur baby. During her free time, she is spending time outdoors, traveling, and dabbling in photography.

Shay has been a school counselor for 16 years at various levels. She received her Undergraduate and Masters from the University of West Georgia and her Education Specialist from University of Georgia. She is currently working on her LPC.

She loves spending time with her 3 kids. She also loves working out, playing tennis, running, biking, paddle boarding and hanging out with friends and her puppy. Shay is looking forward to working with our community!
